I don't think it is incriminate. That would be trying to blame him exclusively. Clearly not what is meant here. That could be 'third party proceedings'.

If you look up the phrase in Dutch on Google you can see lots of references about how this works in all kinds of contexts. I see that it was not the crane driver, but the manufacturer of the crane (sorry, my smartphone must have made the word 'fabricant' so very small...). So, it is possible that the other parties are trying to divert some of the blame and possibly some of the damages to be paid, onto the manufacturer of the crane in question.
Please let us know what the word is, though, because I would be interested to know if you found it.

Numerous parties have tried to induce claimant to include the crane driver (hoogtewerker) in the summons. In zake stellen means to summon but not with a separate summons.

De typo’s zijn mijn schuld -:( Ik heb alleen maar help met "in zake roepen" nodig. Op fraans zou het ook goed zijn - ik denk het "interpeller le fabricant sur...." of zo zou zijn. Bedankt!

zijn die typo's (tus, total) van U of van de brontekst? Concluante=Eiseres, maar in het NL: eisende partij. Zou terugvertalen naar Frans een optie zijn?

Concluante werd tus total niet ingelicht over de hangende procedures resp. diverse/veelvuldige eisende partijen, die haar zouden hebben aangezet:
- De fabricant van de kwestieuze hoogtewerker desgevallend vroeger in zake te roepen vermits zij alsdan zekerheid zou hebben gehad, omtrent de oorzaak van het vastestelde gebrek.

I am having difficulties figuring out the IN ZAKE and how specifically te roepen should be translated.

it is part of a clause, thus the - te roepen - I know how to translate the infinitve - however when appearing together with - in zake - therein lies the confusion.
