Sindromul de detresa respiratorie a adultului Sindromul de detresa respiratorie a adultului, in engleza "Acute respiratory distress syndrome", reprezinta o afectiune acuta a plamanilor, cu un risc crescut pentru viata pacientului. Sindromul de detresa respiratorie se asociaza adesea cu o multiinsuficienta organica (de exemplu S. I. R. S - sindromul de raspuns inflamtor sistemic) si prezinta o rata foarte ridicata de mortalitate.

Etiologie

Sindromul de detresa respiratorie apare fie in cadrul unei reactii sistemice a organismului, fie prin deterioararea directa a functiei pulmonare.
