The 'Riemen' bit makes me guess that the conveyor system consists of several narrow belts that fit e.g. between the rollers of a conveyor system (ref 1 shows the principle, but with chains).
When an item is to be transferred to one side of the conveyor, the frame with the belts is raised (Hub = lift) between the rollers and the belts move the item off the conveyor (Umsetzer).
Ref 2 shows a frame with belts.
