starry, starry nights Explanation: Especially if you see understanding the reference to this as relevant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dipFMJckZOM What the author actually means is hard to say, but "starry" must carry at least as much imagery and emotive weight as étoilé, even if it's something as mundane as the contrast between a drunken night out on the town, most of which is spent in a state of oblivion (nuit blanche?), and a night of excitement, new encounters and discoveries, sparkling intellectual conversation, as Jacques Dutronc might have experienced : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WoJnThJG-s&feature=related |

nights full of fireworks Explanation: I think there could be a play on words intended along the lines of 'nights full of firework stars', from people celebrating, and 'full of fireworks' in the sense of being full of excitement. See the previous Kudoz entry on this very topic. Reference: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/tourism_travel/1... |

night after sleepless, frenzied night Explanation: to party night after sleepless, frenzied (or delirious?) night. Has the idea of 'enchaîner' although it doesn't really deal with 'pour certains'... |

-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day12 hrs (2011-11-18 22:46:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Pour certains" renforce l'idée de drogue, ou du moins de quelque chose qui n'est pas louable.
