...all that can really be said is 'follow a treatment'. 263,000 hits. Most of them are followed by 'plan', but a great many of them are not. We need to know a lot more before giving a reliable answer.

a treatment for any medical reason is the consequence of a workup of diagnostics, exams, consultations, that come to a conclusion of probabilities. As such it is a procedure that has to be followed according to instructions derived from said diagnosis. Whether the description is "follow", "follow a course", "undergo" or "monitor" it all comes down to "doing what you are told to do by whoever knows best". In my opínion, you have to "follow" instructions, and that would be my answer.
