Indeed, but given the list of PLCs and other devices plus the possibility of data (or signal) processing downstream, my bet is on data acquisition using the usual 8, 12, 14 or 16 bit ADCs. And strictly speaking, data acquisition has to precede data logging.

Yes, but... In the fields in which I work, we often talk about 'acquisition' for things like images, which may be acquired using silver-halide technology or silicon sensors; so I think it's very important to keep an open mind and avoid jumping to too many conclusions.

sensors?? I don't agree that "équipements électronique d'acquisition" must be sensors. A sensor is no use until its output has been "acquired", DAQ systems invariably including data storage for subsequent processing. Other than pencil and paper, I have never come across a DAQ system which wasn't electronic, so I'd be inclined to settle for "data acquisition devices/systems".

neutral Tony M : One has to be careful translating équipements as a countable as equipment, which is non-countable in EN; it won't always fit. And while 'data acquisition' is of course a likely bet, we don't know that for sure, so it risks possible over-translation.

I'm not sure what other type of acquisition electronic or embedded hub equipment can make. It may call for a translator's note stating the assumption made, or perhaps the translator can tell from the context whether this fits...

Impossible to be sure without more context; 'acquisition' is quite common, but there are several possiiblities for 'équipements', entirely dependent on context.
