Green vocabulary 08:53 Jun 10, 2011
is one area I often have a problem with, as I do a lot of work in the area. I perceive lot of of the "newish" green buzz terms have quickly become cliches and made their way into business-speak, so that now everything is "sustainable" or "green", which in my view ends up rendering them meaningless, or the butt of jokes as examples of rampant "tree-huggery". I therefore try to limit their use to the specific context of environmental issues, as in the case here. I also realise that my initial rejection of the term may be because I'm currently halfway through a large job about livestock diseases, and "green lung" could quite easily fit in as one of them! |
