Italian term or phrase: lasciando riecheggiare nella mente
This is for a website and consists of a couple of paragraphs on the history of a social club in Italy. This particular phrase relates to reminiscences of older members from days in the mid-sixties when they would listen to contemporary music of the time, and what the memories evoked for them.

The sentence is: C'è qui lega i ricordi della sua giovinezza a quel posto, ripensando ad amici di vecchia data e lasciando riecheggiare nella mente le note di allora quelle di un' indimenticabile (plus name of song), era la metà degli anni 60

Would be most grateful for any suggestions here. Many thanks.

with the unforgettable sound of ...., the theme tune of those days, echoing in our heads
Explanation:
I would put it like this, and definitely "echoing in our heads" (huge no of ghits), if you have to be literal, 'days' rather than 'era' (think Those were the days Lennon-McCartney song), then whether to call it a theme tune, sound track or simply say 'the notes of' is up to you
