German term
tiefengefärbt
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Films / tints / coatings for car windows
I am translating a document about the benefits of the automotive films that this particular company produces. Can anyone please help me with the English term for "tiefengefärbt".
Thanks

deep-dyed
If your text does indeed originate from the Solutia/CPFilms group of companies, then "deep-dyed" would appear to be the correct term to use here.
Unlike colored adhesives, our deep-dyeing technology impregnates dyestuffs throughout the matrix of the film substrate, ensuring that the color will not flake, scratch, rub off or streak.

colour penetrated/color penetrated
impregnated would be the best term, as Andrew suggested. Perhaps you could exchange "durchdrungen" with penetrated? Hope it helps!

It looks as if your text may originate from CPFilms (Solutia), a US company. It may therefore be helpful to have a look at some of their English-language material.
Patented processes for deep-dyeing and adding the toughest scratch resistant coating on the market are also incorporated into Llumar® performance film manufacture.

Color Dying
During the patented computer-controlled "deep dying process" the polymer matrix is penetrated by UV absorbers and/or colour pigments. In this way the films are directly tinted and not merely coated with colour, thus attaining the best possible colour stability and resistance to abrasion.

Also, see this similar use of the terminology by another company in another field:
A patented deep-dyeing process is then used to impregnate the polymer matrix of PET film.

: 'deep-dyed' looks like the right term to enter as a fully fledged answer.
