Eveneens over notebooks, maar dan over het scharniermechanisme:
We incorporated a cam on the hinge part. When you close the LCD panel, the cam engages and locks in certain angle. It is therefore possible to fix the closed LCD panel without a latch. If the cam completely engages, it becomes hard to open, so the panel completely closes just before the cam engages. We went through a difficult tuning process to achieve an LCD panel that users could close smoothly and would stay firmly closed. We had to consider the angle where the cam worked as well as strength of the torque.
