Die Kursteilnehmer werden je nach Können, welches durch ein kurzes "Vorfahren" ermittelt wird, der jeweiligen Gruppe zugewiesen. Der Kurs dauert von Montag bis Freitag (wer möchte, schon ab Sonntag).
Am Mittwoch und am Freitag sind zwei "lange" Tage eingeplant, welche gemeinsames Essen mit dem Skilehrer beinhalten. Mittwochnachmittag gibt s ein Alternativprogramm für die Kleinen. Es wird getanzt, gesprungen und gesungen mit unserem Animateur Thomas!
Am Freitag endet die gemeinsame Woche mit einem Abschlussrennen, wo jeder das Erlernte zeigen kann."

To do with some sort of skiing course. I really can't make head or tail of "Vorfahren", but it's a verbal noun, so clearly doesn't mean "ancestors" here. Collins has "move forward" for "vorfahren", but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. TIA for your assistance.

I think it does mean moving forward, in the sense that they want to see the skiers move forward over a short course to assess their skiing ability. Calling it a skiing exercise avoids having to define any further details.

  -> I take your point about the origins of Vorfahren, but I still think that it could be translated as skiing exercise here. It certainly needs paraphrasing in the English translation
