'joint' Definitely seems an odd word to use, but if as you say this is referring to thing like apartment blocks, then it really ought to be something like 'communal'. As ever, more context would be a great help here.

Maybe it's a common front door shared by two or more dwellings, e.g. in an apartment block. In that case, "Porte commune d'entree".

Dodgy English? Sounds like very dodgy EN to me, so I suspect 'joint' is probably not really the right word; could they possibly be referring to double doors, for example?
