治験において、中止の原因になることもある症状のようです。以下に定義があり、意味はわかるのですが、これという和訳が見つかりません。よろしくお願いいたします。
Hyperglycemic rescue (defined as a fasting plasma glucose ≥275 mg/dL after >1 wk of treatment but before 4 wk of treatment, a single fasting plasma glucose ≥250 mg/dL from 4 wk of treatment but before 8 wk of treatment, a single fasting plasma glucose ≥225 mg/dL from 8 wk of treatment but before 12 wk of treatment, or an HbA1c ≥8.5% and ≤0.5% reduction in HbA1c compared with baseline from 12 wk of treatment through the end of the study period) was a defined end point of the study.

要緊急治療高血糖症
どうも初めまして。HbA1c関連の仕事をしているので、専門分野はちょっと外れるのですが、面白い記事でした。この場合はレスキューを必要とする高血糖状態の数値です。空腹時275 mg/dL 、A1c≥8.5%は人体が血糖のコントロールをほぼできていない状態です。
これらの被験者は血糖コントロール（インスリン分泌）を促進するDPP-4の効果が出ていない状態を示していて、プラシボやDPP4のみでは危険と判断した状態です。実験がモノテラピー、つまりは他の薬を除外した試験の為、直接的な危険となる高血糖に対してインスリンなどの投与を必要とした後は実験データは使えないのです。
なので、保全やレスキューは「助ける」という意味が強すぎる気がします。どちらかと言えば日本語の「要救助者」だと思います。
和訳が存在しない、この研究で定義された状態と語句である為、あまり悩まないでもいいと思います。必要ならば僕に直接メールしてください。懇意にして戴いている日本糖尿病協会の先生と連絡をして直接お聞きする手もありますので。

Thank you for your comments. Yes, it does say that it is a "special form of treatment." I have seen the term "レスキューシステム" used in a Powerpoint-type report.

Discussion
You're still misunderstanding me. Hyperglycemic rescue in this case isn't a method or a treatment. Transworder is making this same mistake. The term in this case is defined by the researcher to indicate a state. It is an ADJECTIVE, not a VERB.
The way both of you are translating it, it reads too close to a verb, and thus as if there is something being done. It should describe a person at an extreme level of hyperglycemia, which shows the test subject is not responding to the treatment with increased insulin production from the DPP4. In this state, the patient requires acute care, which invalidates the participants further results.
It could be said that this is a "hyperglycemia danger state" or "rescue stage" or any number of things. As long as you don't misunderstand this to be a verb of "to rescue" then the translation works.
