Counselor Explanation: Counseling Hi Dawn, I think it corresponds to this professional title. Ciao! The process by which a professional counselor helps a person cope with mental or emotional distress, and understand and solve personal problems. Source www.cancer.gov. National Cancer Institute. Dictionary of cancer terms Or: counsellor> UK -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-04-24 02:39:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Aspetta conferme o eventuali smentite. :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-04-24 02:49:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In un altro ambito ti avrei suggerito "social worker", ma credo che in campo oncologico sia piu' corretto counselor. |

Health care staff/hospital staff Explanation: Although there are lots of references to a counsellor being an "operatore d'aiuto", I think a counsellor is just ONE KIND OF "operatore d'aiuto". Try something more generic such as health care volunteer or health care staff. This article http://www.psicopolis.com/burnout/Pandorafatto.htm says that "La sindrome del burn-out è stata identificata come specifica malattia professionale degli operatori dell’aiuto da C. Maslach nel 1975." Other English language articles on the subject often speak about hospital staff in general or different types of hospital staff, for example, "Burnout syndrome is widespread among emergency service personnel." |
