English to Chinese Bus/Financial Names (personal, company) brand/company name
I'm look for this brand/company name (Plasto) in Chinese. Links as below:

Website in Chinese (without Chinese name): http://www.plasto.com.cn/
Website in English: http://www.plasto.fr/en/

Has it got a Chinese name already?

Thanks a lot!

Discussion

Dr JM Chen, PhD (asker) Jan 13, 2010:
Client asked me to have a subsidiary company name translated phonetically into Chinese. Later on, I found out it already got a Chinese name in China. Without saying, it's best to use the same characters for consistency/to avoid confusion as you said.

Later on in the same document, I came across another subsidiary company name (Plasto) which belongs to the same parent company. As the client and I specifically talked about having company name in Chinese, I suspect it will be the same for this case as it's in the same document to be translated. But before I confirm with him, I'd like to check it hasn't got a Chinese name already (like the first company he asked me to translate). Hence this KudoZ question.

Don't worry, I won't translate company names if not asked to. Thanks anyway.

If the company did not invite you to name they a Chinese, please do not. Or else, confusing would be occasionally caused...
Dr JM Chen, PhD (asker) Jan 12, 2010:
Because I'm translating a series of brand/company names (a group of 子公司) , all the others have got Chinese names except Plasto.

As they are all subsidiaries of the same company, my client may wish to have 'Plasto' in Chinese too (如其它子公司). So I just want to make sure that it hasn't got a Chinese name yet, before I confirm with him whether to keep his company name in English or he would like me to give (translate phonetically) a Chinese name to his company.

Plasto WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR CHINESE VERSION OF A WESTERN PROPER NAME? THEY WILL SHOW IT ON WEBSITE IF THEY HAVE. OR ELSE, NO.
