Alejandro, I think that your translation "Mr. XXX with ID No. ###, whose (official) place of residence is in the US" sounds very professional and I like the level of register it conveys, but I think in this particular document whose content is very time sensitive, I would have to add currently or current in there somewhere. People can have an official place of residence but yet rarely reside there sometimes. On another note, your advice about not translating "el mismo" in cases such as this will be very helpful in future. Sometimes I still struggle between how literal vs. how correct the meaning is conveyed in the natural voice of the other language. Thanks for you post, sol y luna

Robert and Jonathon are correct in adding "currently" to the translation: "Mr. XXX with ID No. YYY, who currently resides in the United States..." "Actualmente" is in the original text and is key to conveying the correct sense of the information present in the document. Thank you, Henry, for your post as well.
