...'tamaño' is an adjective meaning 'tan grande o tan pequeño' (DRAE), so it is inherently augmentative/diminutive. If we knew specifically what the 'barbarie' was, we could say 'such barbarism' and the scale/magnitude would be clear. But precisely because this is vague, I think we need to make some explicit reference to it being of some scale or magnitude.

... it is not easy to tell if any additional text such as "magnitude/scale etc..." is actually required. As the sample text stands, I believe it is not, since we do not know what the "barbarie" specifically refers to. That's why I'd go with the simplest, less augmentative/hyperbolic option.
