Spanish term

director financiero con funciones de DG

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Hello,

In a CV one of the jobs is "director financiero con funciones de DG", also seen later as "director financiero (gerente)".

I am not sure if there is a word for this role, which is seen in small companies where the Finance Director takes on other duties as there is no General Manager.

I was thinking it might just be Financial Director / Managing Director

Does anybody have a better idea?

I fully agree with your comments and your translation. I didn't like it either, but at least the meaning was there :)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank Liz. I still didn't like the way it sounded. Managing Director-level blah blah blah just doesn't seem to roll off the tongue or seem that professional!Your answer was the inspiration for the phrase I eventually used, though, which was "Finance Director at the Managing Director level", so thanks again! Finance Director and Acting Managing Director OR: (also) Acting as Managing Director

A suggestion.

1,280 hits for "finance director and acting managing director" (far more than for "financial director and acting managing director") Here's one: www.dawson.co.uk/directors-biographies -
...as Finance Director and acting Managing Director of ...

And here's an example of the other option (Acting as Managing Director):
pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/PNADG798.pdf -
Finance Director acting as Managing Director.

If "and Acting Managing Director" seems to suggest that there's a managing director job that is only temporarily vacant, perhaps the second option - (also)Acting as Managing Director - would help avoid confusion.
