The weight and surface of the paper should also be considered: hot pressed (HP or fine) papers have a smooth, hard surface. This is the smoothest type of surface and is well-suited to pen and ink. Cold pressed (NOT) papers have a slightly textured surface. Rough surface papers take on more of the texture of the ***paper-making felt*** and are dried naturally without being pressed.
