Ces faux renseignements étaient alors communiqués en secret de toute défense par les avocats faussaires

Discussion

Adam Warren Jul 13, 2009:
A possible interpretation This may mean that the bogus information was communicated - perhaps covertly - without affording any possibility for the party injured by the falsehood to defend its interests. Hope that helps.

didn't mean any offense to Daniel Weston, whose conjecture is reasonable, my hunch is that there is a problem with the original French (but will defer to those more knowledgeable)

disagree gundisalvus : I vote typo, meaningless phrase, mangled in the original French. Interested in seeing opinion of knowledgeable French speaker.
