agree  Andrea Flaßbeck (X): auf der Stelle *laufen* or *marschieren*, as *treten* is rather used figuratively // Aber *treten* ist doch kein Überbegriff! Der Begriff wird im Deutschen vorwiegend metaphorisch verwendet = nicht vorankommen; keine Fortschritte erzielen.
