control committee or controlling committee?

Control committee would refer to a committee which controlled the running of a job or process or a function with in a company or project, not necessarily the finances.

Controlling committee would refer to a committee which controls the costs and finances of a project, job or function of a project. Maybe just a step up the ladder from the control committee depending on the project.
Most sporting clubs have a controlling committee, but not a control committee, where as a major bridge construction company would have both.

Ordinarily I would use Control Committee, as much as I would for Executive Committe, but when in need to stress a difference in function I might use controlling vs executing committees. I hope I was clear. :) Maurizio
