Werthaltigkeit

Deutsch > Englisch Marketing Werbung/PR Luxury goods
A watchmaking client uses this noun to convey the concept of lasting value and I have yet to find the "wow" equivalent in English. It doesn't imply resale value as much as lifelong emotional attachment or perhaps "heirloom-worthiness". The word preciousness doesn't work because it lacks the time aspect. Anybody have THE solution? Thanks in advance!

agree Marina Pjevalica : only term that besides use in literature is used also in finance, real astate, trade, etc. Mona Lisa is timless value but it is exepnsive because it contains perpetual value. Good job!

Have you already considered and rejected this standard translation from the financial field? It seems to work here and is used a lot, e.g.

William Steed - "A well made watch is a companion that will serve a person for many years and so it must complement the wearer and suit their needs. A fine watch is something of intrinsic value, both emotional and practical."

Another way to look at value is longevity. Purchasing a timepiece that has intrinsic value, continually sells well and retains its price at auction means that you're buying an heirloom, not just a watch.

Yes, Alison, I considered that, but again, it lacks that aspect of perpetuity. Diamonds have intrinsic value but that doesn't mean you can sell one for (at least) its original price. Thank you for your help!
