A few years later, lying in bed with a fever, he had seen a black stick, at a slight angle, hop along beyond the edge of the bed, like one of the abstract sections of Fantasia.
Mi versión: Algunos años después, yaciendo en cama con fiebre, había visto un palo negro, en un ángulo pequeño, avanzar a saltos más allá de la orilla de la cama, como una de las partes abstractas de Fantasía.
hop along=avanzar a saltos Esa es la traducción que encontré, pero me gustaría saber si está correcta, espero comentarios. Gracias!

Entiendo que se "black stick" refiere a la varita mágica que cobra vida en la película de Disney "Fantasia". Mi traducción de la gfrase sería:
"había visto una varita negra, un poco torcida, dando saltitos más allá del borde da la cama...".

Explanation:
"avanzar a saltos" está muy bien. En cambio yo diría "ligeramente inclinado" para "at a slight angle".
