Fancy this as the name of a course for teachers of English as a second language!

My take would be "Novels for women in English literature," but I am considering contacting the university to ask for clarification. In the meantime, your suggestions will oblige.

I'm pretty sure it refers to the portrayal of women characters in the novel in English literature. Typically, such a course would provide theoretical background on gender theory, plus analysis of depiction of women in different novels, some by male, some by female authors.
