covered by a barrel vault

creo que lo que se quiere decir es una "bóveda de cañon", pero necesito mayor contexto

agree Gordon Keitch : I wouldn't say "covered", just "with a barrel vault", but obviously more context is needed.

covered by cannon fire?

A wild guess without more context, but it sounds about right. Sorry I can't offer more.
Good luck.

with barrel vaults

Yes, I've just seen your extra context. Remember that "3 naves" is not "3 naves", but will have to be something like "a basilican church with [side] aisles" or "with a nave and aisles". A barrel vault is the simplest vault, typical of 12th-century Romanesque buildings, and is semi-circular.
