English term

construction, holding or striking

English Law/Patents Law (general)
In an agreement about use of a property for filming a movie, there is this clause:

"There shall be no charge for the use of the property, including construction, holding or striking."

I have no idea what this can mean.
Construction = building, holding = land? Then what is "striking"?
Or are these some types of activities?
These terms do not appear anywhere else in the contract.

Will appreciate any help.

demolition, removal

I would assume that these are the three phases of the sets used in filming. You construct the set, you hold it (or maintain it) during the filming process, and then you strike the sets after you are done.

Most such contracts I have seen deal with putting the property back into its original condition (or as close as possible).

construction [of sets, etc.], conducting [filming and other activities], or disassembling sets

"holding" I'm not so sure about--I'm interpreting it in the sense of "conducting an activity"--specifically conducting the activity of filming.

8 a: to assemble for and carry on the activity of <held a convention> b: to cause to be carried on : conduct <will hold a seminar> c: to produce or sponsor especially as a public exhibition <will hold an art show>

"striking" means to disassemble temporary construction: here, film sets. "strike the set" is a set phrase.

In essence, it's referring to the stage before filming (construction), the stage during filming (holding), and the stage after filming (striking).
