Discussion

David Williams Apr 10, 2009:
Totally integrated Alternatively, you could also refer to it as being "totally integrated" as a well known German automation & electronic engineering company generally does.
Anne-Marie Grant (X) Apr 9, 2009:
continuous horizontal and vertical flow of information

This also covers uninterrupted and sounds a bit more natural in English
RegineMac (asker) Apr 9, 2009:
Ja, nur war da auch "lueckenlos" I didn't include it in the question, but the complete phrase was "lueckenloser horizontal und vertikal durchgaengiger Informationsfluss." So "uninterrupted" goes without saying. Do you think continuous is also necessary 'cause that seems tautological to me?
If in doubt, leave it out... or ask others;-) I think I would not omit 'durchgängig' because this is very likely one of the advantages effected by the integration of the automation systems. What is meant is probably the uninterrupted horizontal and vertical flow of information.
RegineMac (asker) Apr 9, 2009:
Was thinking of leaving out durchgaengig and saying:

horizontal and vertical information flow

Does that sound OK?

agree Aniello Scognamiglio (X) : often "end-to-end" is used for "durchgängig" :-) Happy Easter!

Danke, Aniello. Stimmt genau! Frohe Ostereier- oder Häschenjagd! Hier schüttet es, werde wohl den Eiern nachschwimmen müssen.
