I am familiar with the term Journées RTT=
journées de réduction du temps de travail meaning
reduction of work duration (reduction of working hours), so maybe there is a T missing or perhaps it means something else

I mistakenly put ADV as being the abbreviation in Dutch for arbeidsduurverkorting, sorry for that

Thank you very much indeed Ann, I don't suppose a reference is likely to be found on a Kudoz search |

RTT : Réduction du Temps de Travail: With the introduction of the 35-hour working week in 2000, most employees found themselves with a shortened working week. In many cases, employers preferred to keep more or less the same working hours as they had applied previously, but allow employees to build up extra days of holiday by accumulation of the excess hours worked. These days are known as journées RTT. The system is now being phased out, as many employers are increasing the working week following the Sarkozy government's liberalisation policy.

Seems I'm not alone in thinking this is RTT!
If it is, you'll find a few previous RTT questions in the glossary that will help e.g. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/it_information_t...
