On-site reading; reading room

Hi Jonathan. I am not sure about the English equivalent, but I am sure what is meant: namely that you can read certain books at the library (e. g. in a reading room), but you will not be able to take them home. May apply for instance to dictionaries or very old and precious volumes. Hope that helps!

In my university (USA) library, the books that were not supposed to be taken out, we put "on reserve" to be used in the library. See if it fits...
