Explanation:
Secondo me bisogna mantenere il senso di "fading", per conservare il contrasto fra l'atteso affievolimento con il suo diventare, invece, sempre più vivido. "E' tutt'altro che svanito" va benissimo, ma non fa che rafforzare la frase successiva. Forse non va bene la mia traduzione, ma direi che bisognerebbe mantenere l'opposizione tra "fading / getting more vivid".
