¡Hola! No sé si exactamente la pregunta se ubica en "Veterinaria" pero tal vez puedan ayudarme.

Tengo un problema con las ratas preñadas!!!!!! :)

Tengo el siguiente texto:

"Histopathological evaluation of retained tissues was performed for male and female parental rats, and female parental rats that failed to deliver a litter or become pregnant."

Primero "¿cómo se les llama "ratas madre"? y segundo... si no pudieron quedar preñadas ¿por qué les llaman "parental rats"?

Necesito ayuda! Please!

En este caso me gusta más resultaron embarazadas que fracasaron. Fracasaron me suena como a que eran las ratas las que deseaban salir embarazadas, pero fracasaron, no lo lograron. Sin embargo, el texto me suena a experimento, como que el resultado que se buscaba eran ratas embarazadas
