無認可共済とは、2006年3月31日迄の間に存在した、保険業法又は諸般の法令で共済事業の別段規定の無い団体が運営する共済をいう。2005年7月の保険業法改正により無認可共済は保険業 (免許)、少額短期保険業 (登録)、特定保険業 (届出) (2008年3月31日迄の時限措置) のいずれかに移行され、保険業の免許等が不要とされる例を除き制度上消滅した。
