In the Levant, أباجورة means a window shade, the telescoping kind that roll down over the window (or the French door). In Egypt it means a lamp. So the overall meaning in Arabic must mean "shade" including a lamp shade and by extension the lamp itself, as in other colleagues contributions. Clearly a borrowing and not an original Arabic word
