French term
sénigraphié
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Hi
From a range of leather-covered desk accessories:
"cuir sénigraphié"
I thought at first it was a typo for "sérigraphié" but "sénigraphié" is a word (well, it gets a handful of ghits and doesn't appear to be a misprint in those).
Does anyone have an idea what this is?
Thank you!

silk screened leather
Sandra, examining the google hits I'm fairly comfortable believing they are all misprints - one even admits as much & most seem to be the same Russian source. But I admit the idea of "breast prints" is intriguing - Yves Klein in detail.
"silkscreened leather" gets numerous hits.

French term (edited):
sérigraphié
screen-printed
I can only echo everything Vaughn has already said — except to say that I personally also prefer 'screen-printed' — which also gets rather more Ghits. But my main reason for preferring it is simply that I think it sounds ugly to mention both materials 'silk' and 'leather' in close juxtaposition like that.

: Now Tony, I'm shocked. I thought you were definitely a silk & leather kind of dude. No flight jackets? No imaginative kinbaku-bi? No biker's leathers?? ;-))

Oh yes, silk stockings and leather whips... I could recount a few stories to you there...

I'll see if the author of the text can confirm if it's a misprint or not. If it does turn out to be sérigraphié I prefer "screenprinted". Will keep you posted!
