Si el trabajo se traduce (entiende...) por el (su) precio en lugar del bienestar...
Creo que esa es la idea y tú la puedes mejorar.

Social construction achieved through work-fare instead of welfare. A new term apparently coined in UK or maybe US. It means that the incapacitated or socially excluded for physical/mental handicaps improve when they get out and join a working-people environment. In "dry-farming cultures" (cultures rooted in Mediterranenan-type climates) people traditionally live in conurbations where even the very incapacitated obtain human interaction because of the extensvie street-socializing habits. In "green farming cultures" people live out on the land (individual homes surrounded by countryside) and the incapacitated obtain little or much less social engagement. Getting jobs fo them -- the sort of jobs where they join other human beings -- is said to be the best welfare treatment they can hope for, and the results are measurable.

Así lo entendemos en Chile. La alta tasa de desempleo ha llevado a las municipalidades a crear programas de trabajo para los cesantes. Los salarios son bajos, pero ésta se considera una forma de ayuda más digna para las personas.
