Danke Brigitte. Da ich das "positiv" nach vorne geschummelt habe zum "result" klang "advancement" positiver für mich als nur "development" das ja sowohl positiv als auch negativ sein kann. Aber zweimal "positiv" im Satz ist ein no-no...

Andrew, I see what you mean. I was not sure whether to translate it as I have or in the reverse order ( progress first and activity as a result)... it still somehow seems to me that both versions could be OK. Blossoming could be taken as the "wonderful result" of sth, or "the most beutiful, central part" of something... to be honest, it is a puzzle to me ( I am not a native speaker of German, so I cannot "feel" the sentence that well plus I do not know the regional "linguistic mentality"). But you seem to be convinced. :)
