A construção "come be part" também é possível, especialmente no inglês americano. Olhe o que diz o Oxford's Advanced Learner's:
"In spoken English 'come' can be used with and plus another verb, instead of with to and the infinitive, to show purpose or to tell sb what to do: 'When did she last come and see you?'; 'Come and have your dinner'. The and is sometimes left out, especially in NAmE: 'Come have your dinner'."

You sald it yourself, "becoming part", and the original says "fazer parte". Without further context, there is no way to to see what is not strictly there. Maybe it's not a show, but a party. We just don't know.
