Italian term

flex

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting

a bit of a wild guess but it could refer to a flex-hone, used to smooth/polish metal surfaces - www.flexhone.com

Just a thought; there is a German company called Flex that makes grinders, polishers and sanding machines. It could refer to one of their tools. Maybe in the field, the brand name Flex has become the name of the tool much like Hoover has now come to mean a vacuum cleaner .

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "You're right Jules - I asked my husband who straight away said "è una smerigliatrice" - the brand name has obviously become synonymous with the tool name as you said. Thanks for you help and Happy Easter!"

Note from asker:
I've awarded the points to Jules as he put me on the right track - but it was too early to close the question. Wish I could split the points! Thanks and Happy Easter!
