2. The EU proposal on helmets and the separation of skiers and snowboarders.

Regarding the helmets, we all agree that everyone should wear helmets in competition but it is not possible to force the recreational skier to wear a helmet, this can only be recommended.
**As a general rule, one must agree on the specification of the helmets.**
To police the slopes would be difficult. Some countries are unlikely to implement legislation as their local laws do not require this.

Die EU möchte technische Spezifikationen für Skihelme einführen, weiss aber auch, dass sich die Tragepflicht für Freizeit-Skifahrer nicht realisieren lässt.
Zu den Spezifikationen gehört z.B. Schlagfestigkeit, Schutz vor Verletzungen durch den Helm selbst, Schutz vor Zersplitterung (Versprödung des Materials bei Kälte), rasche Anpassung an Kopfform usw.

neutral  Hans G. Liepert: In Deutschland gibt ves eine Helmpflicht weder für Mofas, noch für Fahrradfahrer und für Skifahrer schon gar nicht, lediglich Italien hat eine Helmpflicht für Kinder unter 14 beim Skifahren
