alternate weeks starting on.... Explanation: The answer is actually "no". There is no good way to translate this as we do not regard weeks in the same way as Swedes do. Depending on the context, it might be appropriate to say "Alternate weeks starting on (date)." Although this may not fit your particular sentence. I'll give it some thought. |

odd-numbered week Explanation: odd-numbered week for ojämn vecka -- and even-numbered week(s) for the others. Alternatively, I've seen 'weeks 2,4,6 etc. ' used, or 'weeks 1,3,5 etc.' You might be able to use expressions like 'every two weeks' or perhaps 'fortnightly', once you had established when you were starting, but this depends on your context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2008-01-31 13:35:56 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Googling about, there are some references on English language sites to numbered weeks (week 14 falling at the beginning of April etc.) - so it is not entirely unheard of! Maybe I have been living in Denmark too long, but my clients who work with Scandinavians know how the system works if they get a message about 'delivery in week 7' or whenever. |
