七十二嫔妃

　　所谓七十二嫔妃，不过是泛指皇帝后宫人数的众多，实际上皇帝后宫侍妾的数目远比七十二为多。《管子·小匡》即言：“九妃六嫔，陈妾数千”。《礼·昏仪》则言周代后妃制曰："古者天子后立六宫，三夫人，九嫔，二十七世妇，八十一御妻"。可见早在诸侯时期，国君的妻妾已甚众了。秦汉之时秉承周制建立了中国封建社会的后妃制，以皇帝为中心，皇帝之母称皇太后，祖母称太皇太后，嫡妻称皇后。由于秦的时代短暂，所以完备的后妃体制及其等级划分实际执行于汉代。汉代的后妃爵列八品：即1.皇后，2.夫人，3.美人，4.良人，5.八子，6.七子,7.长使，8.少使。自汉武帝、汉元帝始，后宫三千嫔妃又扩至十四个等级。即1.昭仪，2.婕妤，3.（女圣）娥，4.容华，5.美人，6.八子，7.充依，8.七子，9.良人，10.长使，11.少使，12.五官，13.顺常，14.无涓，共和、娱灵、保林等。东汉时又化繁为简，六宫仅有皇后、贵人之称，其下只设美人、宫人、采女三等。

　　三国魏晋时期后妃制又有所变化，自夫人以下魏定爵秩十二等。魏太祖于王后以下定五等：夫人、昭仪、 婕妤、容华、美人。文帝时增设贵嫔、淑媛、修容、顺成、良人五等。明帝时又增设淑妃、昭华、修仪（除去了顺成）三等。晋参照汉魏之制于皇后下设贵嫔、夫人、贵人为三夫人；又设淑妃、淑媛、淑仪、修华、 修容、修仪、婕妤、容华、充华为九嫔；还有美人、才人等，其位亦在九嫔以下。

　　至此周之三夫人、九嫔便有了具体名称。

In this case, "a beautiful officer/official or imperial concubine" don't fit the context. It could be a beautiful dancer with the family name 官.
