French term

style de vieillesse

French to English Art/Literary History
Hopefully my last question on this art exhibit. Found English translations of Hermann Broch's use of "style de vieillesse" as "style of old age", but sounds awkward to my ear: whose constant renewal of the style of old age is disconcerting...

Titien génie inventif, dont le style de vieillesse déroute par son renouvellement constant

whose style in later years...

Agree basically with both Brigitte and Bourth, but I would put it this way using the "later years" to indicate more precisely the old age, but rephrasing this way.

old-age style

Isn't particularly pretty, but there are plenty of refs.Titian's career was so long that his work seems to be divided into early, later , late and then old age...! I also wonder whether it doesn't refer not just to his age, but the representation of old age in his work. Just a thought.
