Entiendo que se trata de este tipo de producto: http://www.aeroscout.com/content.asp?page=Tags, por lo que creo que es más adecuado traducir "tag" como "tarjeta" (sobre todo porque también se utiliza como tarjeta identificativa) y, como me parece que se trata de un texto más bien orientado a vender el producto, yo empezaría la frase así:
"Esta discreta tarjeta, del tamaño de una tarjeta de crédito..."
