To Ian: I think this can be a general class dedicated to reflect on insurance and maybe more general topics in order to broaden one's mind even in this specialised kind of study. Not sure though what it contains. Could well contain philosophy or psychology (relationships with the clients, the management team or the colleagues, or even a way to appreciate the insurance policies in the light of real incidence on life... ?)

Although I know this isn't the usual translation, what else could it be in terms of a school subject? I mean we just wouldn't say 'thinking or reflections' would we?
In French it does have this dual interpretation ...

: BUT, I think it should be "Reflection and Discussion". "Reflection" on its own just doesn't sound right, but I agree with your interpretation. (And I think you meant "meetings", not "reunions", no?!) :-)
