French term

Réflexion

French to English Bus/Financial Insurance
This is one subject in a list of sujects studied for a diploma in insurance at a French Business School. The complete list goes as follows:

1. Economie
2. ***Réflexion***
3. Organisation de l'assurance
4. Assurance de personne
5. Assurance de dommage
6. Anglais des affaires
7. Mission professionnelle
8. Spécifique dominante
9. Informatique d'entreprise (PCIE)

Any idea what Réflexion can mean in this context? Thanks!

Discussion

Charlie Bavington Sep 2, 2007:
It CAN mean "cooling off", as in the cooling off period (7 days) which is, I believe, the "periode de reflexion". Not completely convinced this would warrant being no. 2 in a list of subjects - just thought I'd mention it.

The difficult art of thinking

To Ian: I think this can be a general class dedicated to reflect on insurance and maybe more general topics in order to broaden one's mind even in this specialised kind of study. Not sure though what it contains. Could well contain philosophy or psychology (relationships with the clients, the management team or the colleagues, or even a way to appreciate the insurance policies in the light of real incidence on life... ?)
Note from asker:
So no special meaning in this context?
Peer comment(s):

agree Bourth (X) : Possibly "(current) Thinking (with a capital T) on insurance".

Reflection

I think they mean reunions in order to discuss and criticize subjects...
Peer comment(s):

agree Sarah Llewellyn : BUT, I think it should be "Reflection and Discussion". "Reflection" on its own just doesn't sound right, but I agree with your interpretation. (And I think you meant "meetings", not "reunions", no?!) :-)
