The erstwhile haunt of Groucho Marx, Alfred Hitchcock and Irving Berlin, Barney’s puts on no airs: the Formica is chipped and the scuffed, papered walls show their age, but the classic purveyor of smoked brain food remains one of New York’s most deliciously colourful dining experiences.
