'moyennant' sort of means 'in return for' You will of course need to adapt the style to suit the register of your text, but I hope that gives you the general idea! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2007-05-17 09:53:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- No, no, I didn't mean the SENTENCE was wrong — just the way you chose to split it up! :-) The point simply being that the 'somme' has no specific connection with the 'moyennant quittance' As you can see, it would have been worth giving the whole sentence in the first place! ;-) |
