Ingredient in a pasta dish. I believe this is a type of tuna, but which one?

Discussion

Here is a good overview over the different types of red tuna (as opposed to white bonito which tends to be called tuna, too): http://www.tonnodicorsa.it/curiosita.asp

bluefish tuna (tonno di corsa)

This might be one way to go, as this is not necessarily a variety of tuna, but more related to its habits.

You could add something like "from the Sardinian coast", rather than the Italian.

Sorry, got fish on the brain. As Irene pointed out, it should be "blueFIN tuna".
Peer comment(s):

neutral Irene Schlotter, Dipl.-Übers. : Shouldn't it be 'bluefin' instead of 'bluefish'?

Tonno di corsa´ literally means ´running tuna´. It is known as ´Bluefin´, considered the best tunafish for sale.
In spring, in the crystal waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the tuna fish finds its natural habitat for reproduction. If you don´t know it, try it. You will find a pleasant surprise.

Credo che dovresti lasciare in italiano ed eventualmente glossare in inglese tra parentesi o spiegare. ***Tonno di corsa (lit. running tuna), a bluefin tunafish***
