“Does he really think this tiny marble can turn into a flying carpet or something?” I thought. And then I remembered I hadn’t read any fairy tales for ages, while it was fairy tales where such miracles happened every day and every minute.

Please advise on the phrase. I'm not really sure it sounds natural enough, but I'm no NES myself.

Then I remembered that I hadn't read a fairy tale in ages while it was in fairy tales that such miracles happened every day and every minute.

As fairy tales were the good place for these miracles to happen
As here is an adverb like While. However the use of each one is different from the other in this context.

"day in and day out", IMO, is better expression to represent "always happening".
