Italiano term
andamento verticale
Da Italiano a Inglese
Legale/Brevetti
Materiali (Plastica, Ceramica ecc.)
I don't know how to word this. The text is describing the shape of a container. The entire phrase is as follows:
"contenitore parallelepipedo appiattito in materiale trasparente con base superiore non trasparente quasi ricoperta da etichetta estendendosi parzialmente sulle facce laterali" trattandosi un particolare di un contenitore ad ***andamento verticale***
stands vertically, maybe?
thanks for any help

with vertical sides/standing vertically
In fact I think your own idea was the most appropriate. To me it sounds wrong to say that a container 'is vertical' or has a 'vertical shape'; that does not really mean anything in English. You can however say that the container has a vertical alignment or vertical sides or something like that.

We only know that the objects are rigid and that they are roughly vertically shaped. Refraction combined with the presence of particles, light absorption, ...

vertical container
I'd get straight to the point... forget the floury italian.. andamento can be easily left out because the point of "andamento verticale" is simply to confirm that the container is vertical.
